In 2020 the festival resonated with new global visibility and attention with COVID-19 directing us online. We put our electric energies into the architecture of the Fak’ugesi site, building it for mobile and low bandwidth viewing by our Pan-African audience.  We also knew that the world was looking at us more closely online, so we built the first phase of our African Digital Arts profile database. Starting with the 183 contributors to Fak’ugesi Festival 2020 Online and extending our identity as a multi-sector, multi-regional creation and collaboration location. 

Poster Illustrator: 2020’s winner Tolo LikaKheswa, a muralist from the Eastern Cape, who brought forward in this design contemplations on the pixel is a constant unit of how we pursue, shape and colour both digital and physical landscapes. #PowerToThePixel
