Residency FAK’UGESI LAB open to the public from 26th Aug to 12th Sept.
Every W ednesday to Sunday, 10am – 4pm

–> Visit the Fak’ugesi Lab at Wits Art Museum. Play and experiment in thinking about the Futures of Johannesburg.
In the Fak’ugesi Lab you can “Meet Your Future Selfie”; explore your city through a “Framed Contemplation”; see plants make art with World Wider Labs and much more!

–> Growing on the Livity and ConnectZA Digital Hustle. We offer a “Reverse” Digital Hustle were resident Jepchumba, art and technology curator Irini Papadimtriou and IsoBar & NowLab South Africa’s Kerry Friend will creatively hustle you to engage the future of Johannesburg.
Are you a digital designer, developer, entrepreneur or just interested in the future of Johannesburg? Join this amazing team of Digital experts to explore, navigate and interpret digital technologies, in creating ideas and paper prototype tools for the digital futures of Johannesburg and Braamfontein.

Market Hack, partnership with ConnectZA & Innovation ZA
Sat. 29th August, 9:30am to 4pm.
The Grove at South Point, Melle Street, Braamfontein
–> An event for the whole family at the market. Join our Residents, the Maker Library and local makers and hackers for a fun day of making at the Saturday market in Braamfontien. You will see playful electronics; maybe help build a robot arm? But generally enjoy the market and the food.

Fak’ugesi Lab ‘First Thursday’ at WAM
Thurs. 3rd Sept 6pm to late.
Wits Art Museum, Corner of Bertha and Jorissen Streets, Braamfontein
–> ‘First Thursdays’ at the Wits Art Museum will host Fak’ugesi Lab activities with residents. Expect the following and more! Help plants make art with “World Wilder Labs” sensors for talking to plants with Kasia Molga, “Meet Your Future Selfie” with Jepchumba or practice wireless poetry with Nathan Gates.
