In 2020 as we are online we are aiming at a Pan-African games community conversation and networking event.

The focus for the 2020 Futures & Networking will be on how our regulations, policies and more from our respective governments may be helping or hindering African game development to both flourish and collaborate better.  A look at doing business, distribution and publication of games both inside and outside of Africa.

Since 2018 Fak’ugesi Festival has been running a community research forum “Fak’ugesi Arcade: Futures & Networking” for the Game Development community in Africa. Started as a community meeting of Johannesburg based developers and African games interested people, “Futures & Networking”  has grown rapidly into a Pan-African conversation of what the game development sector needs to STOP, START and CONTINUE.  The outcomes are published each year and have been significant in questioning and shifting existing research and policy around gaming in our respective African countries.
