In collaboration with Livity Africa in extension of British Council Connect ZA @ Fak’ugesi we present two interactive sessions led by industry professionals will form part of the Festival Talks. See speaker list below. After the success of last year’s Reverse Hustle, the first session will feature the Fak’ugesi Digital Africa Residents who will work with participants to explore the continents digital and tech landscape. The Creative Hustle will be an all-female powerhouse featuring multi-disciplinary immersive filmmaker Karen Palmer and Valentina Floris from SDNA, who will not only share how they are breaking boundaries in their mediums but explore the intersections between technology, creativity and innovation.
Livity Africa is a youth agency that develops platforms, campaigns, ideas and social change. All of this is created for young people, driven by young people.

Fak’ugesi Guests Talks, 26th Aug
A special talks session that features key guests and visitors of the 2016 Fak’ugesi Festival. The festival is delighted to have Joshua Noble as a visitor to the festival this year. Noble is a designer, programmer and author of six books on programming and interactive media development including Programming Interactivity (O’Reily) and Arduino in Action (Manning). We also have Director of our sister festival CairoTronica , Haytham Nawar visiting from Cairo to explore further collaborations. Haythem will present on what happens at CairoTronica. Additionally German interactive media group The Constitute (in partnership with Goethe Institut) will present along with Cape Town based the Original Swimming Party on their FUTURE SOUNDS collaboration.
Women in Tech @ Fak’ugesi, 29th Aug
A special Fak’ugesi Festival Women in Tech ZA networking event that aims to feature key women in the technology industry and provide a networking platform, speaking to both men and women about supporting and featuring women in the industry.
Guest speaker is Debbie Rogers of the Praekelt Foundation.
