Youssef El Idrissi is a 27 years old from Casablanca, Morocco. He is a creative practitioner - artist and cultural operator - who believes firmly that art can not be dissociated from social and spatial matters. Access to arts & culture is a necessity for a fairer and more eco-friendly society. Through his different projects, he aims to connect the aesthetic and the politic by deconstructing the norms, the social barriers and old methods using alternative pedagogies, formats and interdisciplinary practice.
Youssef co-founded a cultural platform named 'Kounaktif', which aims to democratize access to arts and culture by developing creative abilities of those marginalised from policies of the city - creating a creative lab each year, making art tutorials, organizing round tables, music concerts and festivals.
He has a sound project named "Rhizome" that focuses on mixing and producing sounds through field recordings and adding samples of a speech or a social uprising. Aesthetically, he explores from IDM to Psycore, passing by Breakcore or Downtempo. Very eclectic.
