Matthew is a 20 year old 3rd year student, currently studying a Bachelor of engineering science in digital arts at the University of the Witwatersrand. He is an energetic and free-spirited individual. Many say he is a bright person who is always happy and smiling. Because of this he has been given the nickname 'Smiley' in all his circles. His passions in life are video games, friends, and music. His focus in life is to be happy in everything he does and to live life positively. That is why he chose to study video game design. Video games have always made him happy, they were his break and escape. He has been playing games since he was 7 years old and never stopped. In high school, he became interested in the creation process of video games and how they were made. He found out WITS offered a course on game design in grade 11, and thus began to teach himself how to create them. He soon fell in love with the process. Matthew's dream is to create a game that someone else can love, the same way he has loved the games he has played.
