Kgositsile Poonyane is the Head of Gaming at MTN Group with over 17 years experience in digital content, telecoms, financial services, media broadcast and advertising. He is a digital and gaming enthusiast with a passion for stimulating the growth of the game development ecosystem in Africa.
He began his career in advertising at Draft FCB contributing to the growth of digital and VAS content for telecommunication clients. His passion for all things digital continued when he joined MultiChoice
to launch DStv Mobile in Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining MTN Group, he was Head of Consumer Marketing at PCCW Global, and General Manager for Marketing at Ster-Kinekor, facilitating gaming tournaments at cinemas across South Africa.
His role at MTN has been marked by achievements such as leading the development and launch of MTN’s mobile gaming offering, MTN Arcade and MTN Gameworld, in South Africa and Nigeria
